Buy Left Handed Golf Equipment Online

There are several specialty sites that cater to the left handed golfing population, with some of the sites even carrying only left handed golf equipment. If a golfer is particular about what he needs, all he would have to do is type in the particular model name of the golf club along with the keyword “left handed” to find an Online store that will carry a left handed version of their favorite club.

Left Handed Golf Clubs – Online Stores Have What You Need

If you have been rather discouraged by the lack of selections when it comes to left handed golf clubs at your local pro shop, you need not be too worried. Get on the Internet to find exactly what you need without having to compromise on the purchase of your left handed golf equipment.

This article will quickly provide a guide to buying left handed golf equipment at an online store.

Where to buy left-handed golf equipment?

Go to any search engine such as Google and type in “left handed golf equipment” or “left handed golf clubs”. These two search terms instantly return more than 1 Million results. Most of these search results will be online stores that sell various left handed golf clubs. If you are pessimistic or not comfortable with buying from online stores that you are not really familiar with, you can still try very well known stores.

How to choose left handed golf clubs before buying them online?

The drawback to buying online is that the golf club cannot be tried out, for obvious reasons. Thus, it is important that one goes through the return and exchange policy of these websites before purchasing left handed golf clubs from them. There is a way to try out the golf clubs before buying them off the Internet. Well, technically, one can try out right handed versions of the left handed golf clubs that they intend to buy from the Internet. Go to a large sporting goods store or a large golf store to try look for the club that you want. In all probability, they will not carry a left handed version. You can still try out the right handed version of the club to check out the weight, balance, grip and quality of the club material. Take a few practice swings with your unnatural right side as it will help you get a basic feel of the club. If the club is what you expected it to be, go home and order the left handed versions of those clubs that you saw.

If you are unsure about what left handed golf equipment you will need, it is best that you seek the advice of a pro golf shop attendant or instructor. They will usually be able to quickly point you in the right direction in choosing the right left handed golf equipment.

Keep Your Left Arm Straight?

Symptom:  Slice, weak shots that tail off to the right AND you are a beginning golfer who seems to attract unsolicited advice.

Description:  Swing such that your left elbow stays relatively straight, especially at impact and during the takeaway.

Why it works:  “Keep your left arm straight” is perhaps the most famous (infamous?) golf tip on the planet.  The tip must be understood in context.  In a properly-executed swing, the left arm will stay fairly straight, and this is desirable.  A bent left arm robs power from the shot, and will return the clubface to the ball inconsistently.  But if you focus on keeping your elbow straight, you will introduce tension that restricts your turn and inhibits a powerful release of the club.  If you are swinging and your left arm is bent, then forcibly keeping your left arm straight is unlikely to fix your problems — you have much bigger problems that are best fixed by different drills, such as the underhand stick toss drill or the two ball drill.

I much prefer to phrase the “left arm straight” tip as “swing so that your left arm stays relatively straight throughout the swing” — especially at the takeaway and at impact.  This phrasing emphasizes the turn, the release, the lag, and so on, rather than focusing on your left elbow.  Who wants to focus on the elbow anyway?  You need to focus on the ball — that’s what you’re trying to hit!

Haas outlasts Mickelson, Bradley in Riviera playoff

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Bill Haas wound up making the biggest putt of them all at Riviera.

On the second extra hole of a three-way playoff Sunday – made possible by clutch birdie putts from Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley on the final hole – Haas rolled in a 45-foot birdie putt across the 10th green to win the Northern Trust Open.

Haas closed with a 2-under 69 and won a PGA Tour event for the third straight year.

He was on the practice range at 7-under 277, warming up for a playoff that didn’t look likely. Mickelson and Bradley, the co-leaders going into the final round, were one shot behind on the 18th hole, which had given up only six birdies all day.

With tournament executive director Jerry West – “Mr. Clutch” from his days with the Los Angeles Lakers – looking on, Mickelson rammed in a birdie putt from just outside 25 feet, pointing his putter and slamming his fist as the gallery packed into the hill below the stately clubhouse let out a cheer that could be heard down Sunset Boulevard.

Mickelson bumped fists with Bradley and told his protege, “Join me.”

That he did. Bradley’s birdie putt from just outside 12 feet took one last, slow turn at the cup and disappeared, setting off another enormous cheer. No one had to tell Haas what was happening.

They started the playoff on the 18th, and Bradley had the best look at birdie with a 15-footer from just off the back of the green that touched the right side of the cup.

Is HiBore XLS Driver the Cleveland’s Best Golf?

I believe, those who play golf for a long time know the fact that the Cleveland HiBORE XLS is the third generation in the HiBORE line.

The Cleveland HiBore XLS Driver is a unique looking golf club. Not only is the head on this Driver one of the biggest ever made by Cleveland, it’s one of the biggest on the market just now from any manufactuer. While it definitely wasn’t the worst we have ever heard, the sound at impact of the HiBore XLS certainly is something that may put some players off the club.

The design of this club is intended to give players a larger sweet spot to work with, and thus make it easier to launch straight and powerful drives. The lofts available on the HiBore XLS Driver are 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5 degrees. All are available in right hand whereas only the 9.5 and 10.5 degree versions are available in left hand.

When I first started hitting the HiBORE XLS, my normal swing did not get along very well with it. Though the standard XLS is supposed to have a square clubface, it feels closed. My swing closed the face even more, delofting the 9.5° face to 7 or 8°. Suffice it to say that, at first, all I could hit were right-to-left-moving bullets that reached a maximum height of about 20 feet.

So I temporarily changed my swing to fit what the driver seemed to want to do. I purposely came over the top and held off my finish a bit. The ball started going straight and gaining the typical height of my drives. Distance was average, with the rare zinger mixed in there.

In conclusion, The HiBORE XLS Driver is a huge improvement over the original HiBORE. Its forgiving nature and good distance are likely to keep you in the fairway more than your current driver. Those who naturally draw the ball or who want to work the ball off the tee should look to the driver.

Phil Mickelson gets best of Tiger Woods

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — That was fun, wasn’t it? Maybe not for Tiger Woods. Well, absolutely not for Tiger, who couldn’t get off the Monterey Peninsula fast enough and might not be back at Pebble Beach until the 2019 U.S. Open.

But big picture, the Tiger-Phil dynamic, is as good as any 17-Mile Drive vista. Phil Mickelson more than lived up to his end Sunday during the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National, Woods did not.

Just having them in the same group — even if the amateurs were an unsightly nuisance during the final round — was a welcome occurrence, one not to be taken for granted.

For a generation-plus, they have been the face of golf, combining to win 111 PGA Tour events and 18 major championships. They were grouped again on Sunday, for the 30th time in their careers, and while it wasn’t a duel like they had at Doral back in 2005 or perhaps the 2009 Masters, it was compelling nonetheless.

Few saw this kind of drubbing coming, Mickelson waxing Woods by 11 strokes, 64 to 75, and cruising to his 40th career PGA Tour title to move into ninth-place all time, ahead of Tom Watson and Cary Middlecoff.

Mickelson came from six strokes back to win by three. He had the lowest score of the day by three shots. He didn’t make a bogey and twice made long putts to save par.

“He has so much respect for Tiger, as obviously everybody out here does. He’s close with Joe [LaCava, Woods' caddie,] as I am. We know it’s going to be fun. There’s going to be a lot of people watching. It’s a big stage. And that’s what he likes. The one thing that has always impressed me about him is how comfortable he seems when there is a lot going on.”

So imagine just how big that stage was for Skip McGee. He’s an executive with Barclays from Houston and was Mickelson’s amateur partner for the tournament.

Some Ways to Make Golf More Interesting

As you probably are aware, Miles of Golf and the Kendall Academy are pretty serious about trying to help players get better and enjoy the game.  Sometimes I think we need to concentrate more on the enjoyment.

Here are some ideas you might consider to make the game even more fun:

  1. Take a golf vacation.  There are not many places to go as good as Northern Michigan in the summer to play golf.  The courses are great and the price is right.  Playing a few days in a row is also wonderful for your game.
  2. Work at developing a group of golfers you really enjoy playing with.  Give me the choice of playing a great course with golfers I do not really enjoy or playing an average course with true friends and I will pick the latter every time.
  3. Appreciate the beauty and the challenges of the course you are playing.  Mark Twain called golf “a good walk spoiled”.   Make your golf “a good walk made better” by enjoying the beauty of the course, enjoying your playing partners, and accepting the challenge of the game.
  4. Take some of the mystery out of the game.  Once a player learns how to control what happens to the golf ball, the more fun the game is.  Without this understanding, the results of each shot, both good and bad, are a mystery.  Golf lessons and instruction books will help you understand how the game works and making it more fun.
  5. Play in a competition.  Try your hand at competitive golf, any competitive golf like a league.  It is very different from regular golf, and for sum, it is a blast.  On our blog, there is an article about competitive golf.
  6. Understand how equipment works.  Knowing something about the physics of how equipment propels the golf ball is fascinating for many players.  Go through a Miles of Golf fitting and you may learn more about golf clubs than you want to know.  These club fitters are true equipment geeks, and for many of you, it will be thrill.

TaylorMade R11s deDriver buts as No1 model in play

In the week that the TaylorMade R11S driver makes its official debut on the European Tour, it has gone straight to being the number one driver driver in play at the Qatar Masters.

The R11S has been well received by TaylorMade’s army of Tour pros with 24 in the bags of the players competing in Doha.

In addition the RBZ Tour fairway was the most used fairway model, the Rescue 11 TP the No.1 Rescue model and the Tour Preferred MC irons the No.1 iron model to round off a successful start to 2012 for TaylorMade.

Sergio Garcia tested the Taylormade R11S with the TaylorMade Tour team at the beginning of the week and gained one mph increased ball speed, with less spin, and an average increased carry of seven yards. Paul McGinley saw an increase in five mph ball speed and after changing the FCT to lower he found the ball flight he was looking for, which transpired into a massive increase of 18 yards of carry.

Ian Watts, director of sports marketing for TaylorMade-adidas Golf Europe, said:”Once we put the R11S in their hands and the players gained an average increased ball speed of four mph and increased distance off the tee, they were happy to switch straight away.”

PGA Merchandise Show – The Exhibition

While day one of the PGA Merchandise Show is all about hitting clubs at the demo day, days two and three are about the major manufacturers showing off by seeing who can make the most noise and essentially seeing who has the biggest stand.

Once the manic nature of the opening exhibition day dies down, you get more of a chance to see something other than metal on the second day. Chief among the new launches is some new laser rangefinders coming from Bushnell which feature greater clarity and a much more visible targeting system.

The rest of the distance measuring device industry also got in on the act with GolfBuddy announcing two new devices – an update to their World Platinum and the Voice, a small clip-on GPS system with sound notification so you don’t even have to look at the screen.

SkyCaddie have announced an update to the SGX with the SGXw – a system with built-in WiFi to make updates easier while the Garmin G6 Approach already looks an improvement on their previous version.

The good news for GoreTex lovers is that Sunice also have a new range of waterproofs hitting the UK and they’re also bringing with it a stylish apparel range, which impressed. Druh Belts are also getting in on the act with a new apparel range hoping to capitalise on the success they’ve had on the waists of Lee Westwood, Thomas Bjorn and Robert Karlsson among many others.

More celebrity appearances included LPGA star Natalie Gulbis for Winn Grips and Tiger Woods’ former coach Hank Haney for his new line of Crocs golf shoes, although these won’t be available in the UK for the moment.

The final day of TG’s Orlando adventure included an appearance at the Cleveland/Srixon media day. The brand have recently launched a host of new product including the 588 Forged wedge and the Classic Driver and the media day at Shingle Creek GC allowed journalists to test product out on the course for the first time.

2012 TaylorMade RocketBallZ RBZ irons and RBZ Fairway Woods

On 2012, after releasing a new driver–TaylorMade RBZ Driver. TaylorMade continue to launch RBZ irons and RBZ Fairway Woods. The RBZ stands for RocketBallz which is the possible new name for their new line of drivers and irons and maybe even golf balls too for 2012. TaylorMade has always been an innovator with their golf clubs and they are aiming to have a complete line of clubs just for the sake of adding distance.

This could be what the RocketBallz line is for and this will be trouble for the other brands who’s main weapon in attracting customers is distance. A lot of people will surely be testing this product out once it will be released because something that is made by TaylorMade needs to be tested because of the quality that goes with the name of the product.

The RBZ set of TaylorMade is said to be made for the mid to high-handicap golfers who want more distance and forgiveness so that they can hit it farther and still keep their ball in play. The golfers within this range are unable to hit it far enough to carry that certain ravine which will force them to lay up. Hopefully with the RBZ, the significant increase in distance will allow these golfers to hit their ball past the trouble and hazards that they used to avoid. There are two rumored driver designs for the TaylorMade RBZ driver and one of them has a deep face while the other driver has an elongated shape. It is not clear yet as to how these shapes are designed to affect the club performance but one thing that is for sure is that both clubs will be easy to hit.

“We’ve worked extensively to advance fast-faced iron performance, and feel like we’re well ahead of our competitors in this category,” said Bret Wahl, TaylorMade senior director of iron, wedge and putter research and development. “We’ve learned that high COR is most useful when on top of high speed you can also control the face-flexion to send the ball on an accurate flight-line. With that in mind, we’re very pleased with what we’ve achieved with the RocketBallz iron.”

The TaylorMade RocketBallz RBZ fairway wood has been developed specifically to help increase ball speed. The slightly deeper face and a COG that is further forward than traditional fairway woods gives you a more efficient, higher launch angle with less spin for even more distance. The incorporation of deeper face, low-and-forward CG and RocketBallz technology has allowed TaylorMade to create the first steel fairway wood that reaches USGA/R&A speed limits.

I love the looks of these with the green accents! A fantastic price point as well. I want to see what kind of distance these things have!

Stewart Cink ready for a fresh start on PGA Tour

HONOLULU (AP) – Two dozen PGA Tour rookies start their season Thursday at the Sony Open.

In some respects, Stewart Cink feels like one of them.

“This is a fresh start,” he said Wednesday, walking down the 15th fairway at Waialae Country Club during the best part of the day as the warm sun started to drop toward the Pacific horizon.

Cink is 38 and about to embark on his 15th season. He is still saluted as the guy who spoiled an epic moment in sports by taking down Tom Watson at Turnberry to win the 2009 British Open. His home life has never been better. His oldest son, Connor, is a senior in high school who was recently made captain of his high school hockey team in Atlanta. Reagan will turn 15 on Sunday at the Masters.

His golf game? That’s another story.

Cink moved up to No. 9 in the world when he won at Turnberry. He starts this year at No. 147.

“I don’t feel like I belong there,” Cink said, conceding that he stopped paying attention after he slipped out of the top 100. “It’s very disappointing, but I’ve played about that kind of golf. I’ll never be one to argue about the ranking. I think the ranking tells you how you’re playing. You can’t hide from them.”

It seems as though Cink has been in hiding.

He had sinus surgery in November and the medication he was on kept him awake at night. He wound up watching the Presidents Cup, another reminder of how far he had fallen. Cink had played on the previous seven U.S. teams in the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup. He had to sit this one out.

He played in 23 consecutive World Golf Championships until last year at Doral. He starts this year not eligible for any of them. He still gets into the majors based on his win at the Open.
